Ford’s improvements with the F150 over the last 40 years have come as a mix of type and function. These improvements have made the truck extra reliable and adaptive to a wide variety of uses. Manufacturing unit working boards and step bars are examples of these improvements that provide a mix of both type and function. The boards or bars provide further safety for the lower portion of the doorways, while supplying you with an intermediate step between the ground and the F150′s floor. In case your F150 didn’t go away the factory with working boards or step bars, you’ll be able to install Nerf bars in about an hour.

Ford F150 Super Crew Cab Nerf Bars Installation Instructions

1. Brace the F150 Super Crew’s right-entrance wheel with two wheel chocks to stop the truck from rolling.
2. Carry the left side of the truck with a flooring jack until you can place two jack stands, adjusted to their full peak, underneath the left body rail. Lower the F150 onto the 2 jack stands with the ground jack.
3. Position two extra jack stands alongside the motive force’s side of the F150. Elevate the left Nerf Bar onto these jack stands, with the mounting brackets aligned with the manufacturing facility-drilled mounting holes within the F150′s left frame rail.
4. Slide the Nerf Bar mounting bolts by means of the Nerf Bar mounting brackets and thru the F150′s left body rail. Slip the lock washers onto the ends of the bolts after which tighten the retaining nuts onto the bolts with the socket set to secure the Nerf bar to the truck’s frame. Note that some Nerf bars could include a rubber insulator to take a seat between the mounting bracket and frame; if yours do, make sure that to put the insulator between the bar and body before inserting the bolt.
5. Lift the F150 off the jack stands, using the floor jack. Move all 4 jack stands away from the truck. Decrease the F150 to the ground.
6. Repeat Steps 1 by means of 5 on the opposite aspect to install the proper Nerf bar.
7. Re-tighten all the Nerf bar mounting nuts when done. When tightening, torque the nuts till the lock washers flatten out, then flip the nut 1/2-turn further.
